In conjunction with the Stone Roses tickets for their upcoming reunion tour, the boys have also signed with Universal and Columbia Records to handle distribution of their new album in the UK and US respectively. A release date hasn’t been set but this the first whiff of a new Stone Roses record we’ve seen since ’94. Whether or not they’ll release new material before the tour remains to be seen, but fans holding Stone Roses tickets may not be so forgiving on tour if the new music tanks.

Long before David Beckham was a superstar and Mani Mounfield was a bassist for the Stone Roses, they were both Reds in a little city known as Manchester. As it turns out, when the Stone Roses first took the world by storm, Beckham was a bit of a fan, and when he heard that there might be a crack in the wall between lead singer Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire, he shot through it like he was racing past two defenders on the way to the net. Reportedly, Becks began petitioning all the members of the band to get back together so he could pick up some Stone Roses tickets for the reunion tour. The rest, as they say, is history. So we all have Beckham to thanks for our Stone Roses tickets. If you see him on on the street, be sure to extend a pat on the back.

Out to make the most of their recently announced reunion, the Stone Roses have enlisted director Shane Meadows to film a documentary on their upcoming tour. As if Stone Roses tickets weren’t enough, now you can buy the book and see the movie. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not they make it through the whole tour without collapsing into the arguments and bitter infighting that have afflicted so many bands in the same scenario. There’s also a raging rumor that the band, dare we say it, isn’t that good live. Don’t let that deter you from buying Stone Roses tickets, to each their own, one man’s hack band is another man’s living legend. The fact that they’re making a movie almost makes you wish for a little turmoil to make the whole thing interesting. Surely they’ll dip into the vaults and dredge up some old archival footage that’ll make those Stone Roses tickets for the movie worth your while in case the sparks don’t fly.

With all the hype surrounding The Stone Roses Reunion tour, fans wondered whether or not this would be the end of Ian Brown’s solo career. Brown took to his website to announce that would not be the case. His official message read:
“I hope everybody is happy to hear of the reunification of the Roses. This doesn’t mean there won’t be more solo stuff in the future. Thanks – 1 love.”
It looks Brown will be busy between the world tour and recording material for a new Stone Roses album and his solo work. Now’s the time to pick up your Stone Roses tickets to see history in the making.

Contrary to John Squire’s famous quote, “when it’s just a get-together for a big payday and everyone gets their old clothes out, that seems tragic to me,” the recent unveiling of 2012 Stone Roses tour dates was pre-dated by the announcement that Viking had netted an authorized biography of The Stone Roses for an undisclosed six-figure sum. The book already has a release date of October 25th, 2012 and a price tag of £20, royalties on which are likely to be tragically collected by members of the band. In a minor twist, the band have actually gone on a wee shopping spree and purchased new clothes in a plaid, suede and Addidas palette, a far cry from the baggy t-shirts and Gilligan hats of the old days. Don’t sleep on this reunion tour, be sure to pick up your Stone Roses tickets as soon as they go on sale.
